What does Embedding mean?
An embedding turns text into a vector of numbers that captures the meaning of the content. Texts with similar content get similar vectors – even when they use different words.
Embeddings are the foundation of semantic search and of RAG: they make it possible to find exactly the passages in large document collections that match a question by meaning.
